1987年4月27日中国人民银行发行第四套人民币。2004年3月中国人民银行宣布对四版2元2角（802、902、8002）只收不付。2007年4月中国人民银行宣布1、2、5分纸币退出流通领域。 2007年9月中国人民银行内部文件命令对四版1元以上面额纸币只收不付。时至今日，整套四版币早已难觅其踪，豹子号更是一套难求。鉴于此，评级版第四套人民币豹子号限量发行，完美解决各路藏家为求一套靓号币藏而不可得的遗憾,具有极高的收藏价值。
