钧窑始于唐、盛于宋，是中国古代五大名窑之一，并以其独特的釉料及烧成方法产生的窑变神奇而闻名于世 。北宋徽宗时期，官府在今河南省禹州市区东北部设置官窑，为皇宫烧制贡瓷。因窑址邻近古代春秋战国的钧台，故名为“钧台窑”，简称“钧窑”，所产瓷器即名“钧瓷”。
钧窑瓷器之所以名贵，除了造型浑厚端庄外，最突出的有两个方面：一是钧瓷在烧制中会出现窑变现象，含有铜质的釉料经窑变后会形成海棠红、朱砂红、鸡血红等釉色，彼此渗化，相映成辉，有“进窑一色，出窑万彩”之说；二是钧瓷制作工艺复杂，成品率低，一件钧瓷从选料到烧成需经过72道工序 。钧瓷作为中国陶瓷艺术史上的一个重要符号，在世界陶瓷发展史上占有重要地位，自古就有“黄金有价钧无价”、“家有万贯，不如钧瓷一片”之说。它独特的窑变艺术，以其“入窑一色，出窑万彩“的艺术特点广受陶瓷爱好者喜爱。

近期我公司征集了一件钧窑胆瓶，此器通高16.5厘米，口径4.83cm，底径5.01cm。该瓶盘口，唇口外撇，细长颈，胆形瓶腹，圈足。器身满施豆绿釉，施釉不到底，器腹有大块窑变红斑。钧窑的这种红斑，是由于青蓝色釉中三价铁的青色和铜的红色合成而形成的，有如蓝天中晚霞，即所谓“钧红”。近足与盘口处有窑变青斑，色泽清雅恬静，如山水氤氲，引人入胜。如此斑纹，有赖艺匠刷绘釉料手艺，以釉料分布及两彩比重见高下，如此特质与20世纪抽象派画作异曲同工，且令观者赏心悦目。

This red spot of Jun Kiln is formed by the synthesis of the cyan of trivalent iron and the red of copper in the cyan blue glaze, like the sunset glow in the blue sky, the so-called "Jun Hong".
